Make A Difference

“Make a Difference”

It’s a mantra we hear over and over in reference to all number of things—charity, helping others, mentoring, volunteering, professions…it’s one with meaning and one with real value, but you also need to consider the value in these words for your own well being.

Make A Difference In Your Life Today

Giving of yourself and making a difference in the life of someone who could really use that help is an admirable, commendable thing. I would never take that away from anyone. I’ve said many times before that I love people and love helping people, and I believe we should all be doing that. Indeed helping others has been a topic we’ve discussed here on this very blog. Throughout life and my learning in success and wealth development, I’ve come to know a few things, and this is one of the most important among them:

reflectYou have to help yourself before you can help others.

First and foremost, you have to be the difference in your own life before you can make a difference for others. If this sounds selfish, it is not—you do not want to become a liability to others, and the way that you can maximise the difference you make to others is by first maximising your own strengths and abilities. You can give far more and make much more of an impact upon the lives of those whom you seek to help by first becoming a strong, wealthy, independent person who has the strength of mindset to pass on to others.

Parallel Progress

Remember that when we help ourselves and share that journey, we help others, too. There is a very parallel nature to bettering one’s self. As the Law of Attraction works to draw positivity and wealth to you, it will also draw it to those whom you come into contact with. Whether that has staying power in their lives or not will depend largely on what they do with that, but you can at least take comfort in knowing that where you tread, you leave behind something better than was there before. Focus today on making a difference in your own life, and tomorrow you will see just how powerful that is in your life and all the lives that intersect with yours.

Not A Prescription For False Content

Monday, May 11th, 2009

In our last post we talked about refusing to participate in poverty. Now, there are those who say that that is just a form of denial of your real situation; but it’s not. There is nothing falsely content about refusing to live in poverty. The situation is quite the opposite, in fact.

Your Life Is What You Make It

This is an ages-old expression, so no doubt you’ve heard it before. But your life really is what you make it. If you make create-successit one of positivity and success, celebrating all of your progress and all that you have, it will be one that is focused in positivity and success. It will be one that grows more positivity and success. It’s up to you to guide that positivity and success towards the outcomes that you desire—money, happiness, relationships….anything you want, or better—all of it!

This very much follows along the different versions of wealth and life success—for example, the Law of Attraction, attracting more of the better things in life and multiplying the effect, or [Name Withheld] Be, Do, Have concept—being a wealthy person so that you take the actions of wealthy person and then have the things that a wealthy person has. It’s not new, but it is reality, and there is nothing false about it.

Find Your Happiness And Wealth

If you try to find the wealth and happiness in your life, you will. If you choose to deny it and believe that this is a matter of false content, then no doubt you will find that to be the truth. I encourage you to take just five minutes to find some form of wealth in your life. Grab hold of that with both hands, and see how much larger that wealth (personal or financial) can become just by deciding that it is and should be so.

Dare To Be Rich!

Sunday, April 26th, 2009

The hardest part of achieving wealth and prosperity is getting started and committing to a course of ongoing action. So much of the time the reason that we find that hard to do is because negativity and cynicism is ingrained within us; the knee-jerk response to possibility is that it can’t be done, or is silly or ridiculous. We are so programmed toward cynicism that it is nearly impossible to overcome and actually believe in possibility by the time we are adults.

Strategic Daring

We’ve talked about a few ways to overcome this, from rewiring your subconscious and developing the Dare to Succeedmillionaire mindset to just plain ignoring the naysayers. Now, here’s another—fun—option. Dare yourself to succeed!

As humans we all love a good dare. We love to be dared and to prove the naysayers wrong. We love to throw it back in the faces of everyone who told us we wouldn’t or couldn’t. What better, sweeter victory is there than to prove everyone wrong who said you could never be prosperous and financially free? Who said you’d never be rich because wealth was only for the rich? As the saying goes, living well is the sweetest revenge….

Dare Your Little Voice

This same strategy works for that nagging little voice inside of you that doesn’t believe in you either. That side of yourself that you never liked, that is always talking you out of trying to achieve true wealth and financial freedom. Show that voice who’s boss! The next time it “dares” you to try it, take that dare, and dare to succeed!

If you just can’t muster the confidence (yet) to make a real run at wealth, get started in whatever way you can. Dare yourself to go on the most profitable adventure you’ve ever taken, and find out just how daring and successful you can be!

Schedule Balance

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009

By now we’ve got a pretty comprehensive plan for setting appointments for wealth creation. To give one last word (maybe…I can’t promise I won’t be inspired to write more if I think of something later) I’d like to remind you that as you make these modifications to your schedule and priorities, remember to prioritise all the important aspects of your life, and not just the priority of making time for wealth creation.

Make Time For A Balanced Life

One of the things that [Name Withheld] talked about in his videos was making sure that you do not just build wealth and focus solely on that while ignoring other important life aspects. In order to live our best lives, we need to not sacrifice the things that really matter—things like health, family, and relationships. We need to make sure there is a balance there, and attend to all of these important life factors. As we talked about before, when you sacrifice one for another you effectively kill off a part of yourself and your life; and that is a part of your life that you cannot be guaranteed to get back.

Cut Out The Fluff

This is hard to do, I know. But life is not an either-or proposition where we attend to one thing at a time. There are a few priorities that always need to be attended to. It’s important for your best life to find out what those are and to make the time for all of them. Cut out only the things that do not matter, that are negotiable. Take some care in doing that so that you can balance out a life of success and happiness. Balance your schedule to balance your life and live a wealthy, fulfilling, prosperous life all around.

Wealth Isn’t About The Math

Thursday, December 4th, 2008

A wise man once said that being in debt isn’t about the math; meaning that everyone understands that paying huge interest and being burdened by large revolving debts doesn’t make sense. And if being in debt was only about the mathematical equation, then no one would ever be in debt.

The funny thing is being wealthy isn’t about the math, either. Mathematically, we all know it makes more sense to save money, invest, and build wealth. And if that was all there was to it then everyone would be wealthy.

What Is Wealth Creation About, Then?

If it’s not about the math, what is it about?

If being in debt is not about the math, then what is it about?

If being wealthy is not about the math, then what is it about?

The thing that both of these seemingly opposites have in common is one thing—mindset.

No matter how you got to where you are, not matter what you think consciously and subconsciously about money, debt, and wealth, it is your mindset, emotion, and psychology that got you there. Anyone can do the math to figure out how to logically be wealthy, or not be in debt. But not everyone can apply what they know to building wealth (or to breaking debt cycles). Most people cannot. That is why most people are not wealthy.

People who doubt the effect of mindset on wealth should try looking at it from the other side; for some reason it’s easier to see that being in debt doesn’t make sense, yet so many very intelligent people are. So it has to be about more than the math, right? There has to be a more human, emotional component to being in debt. Just as there has to be a more human, emotional component to being wealthy. If it were any other way, we would have far fewer debtors, and a world full of wealthy people!
