Make A Difference

“Make a Difference”

It’s a mantra we hear over and over in reference to all number of things—charity, helping others, mentoring, volunteering, professions…it’s one with meaning and one with real value, but you also need to consider the value in these words for your own well being.

Make A Difference In Your Life Today

Giving of yourself and making a difference in the life of someone who could really use that help is an admirable, commendable thing. I would never take that away from anyone. I’ve said many times before that I love people and love helping people, and I believe we should all be doing that. Indeed helping others has been a topic we’ve discussed here on this very blog. Throughout life and my learning in success and wealth development, I’ve come to know a few things, and this is one of the most important among them:

reflectYou have to help yourself before you can help others.

First and foremost, you have to be the difference in your own life before you can make a difference for others. If this sounds selfish, it is not—you do not want to become a liability to others, and the way that you can maximise the difference you make to others is by first maximising your own strengths and abilities. You can give far more and make much more of an impact upon the lives of those whom you seek to help by first becoming a strong, wealthy, independent person who has the strength of mindset to pass on to others.

Parallel Progress

Remember that when we help ourselves and share that journey, we help others, too. There is a very parallel nature to bettering one’s self. As the Law of Attraction works to draw positivity and wealth to you, it will also draw it to those whom you come into contact with. Whether that has staying power in their lives or not will depend largely on what they do with that, but you can at least take comfort in knowing that where you tread, you leave behind something better than was there before. Focus today on making a difference in your own life, and tomorrow you will see just how powerful that is in your life and all the lives that intersect with yours.

Only You Can Limit Your Options

Friday, March 27th, 2009

Your life is no accident; we’ve clarified that now. Your life is an actionable path that can take you wherever you guide it. Now that you know that, you should feel empowered and in control of your future financial security and wealth development. You should also feel excited—because along with guidance comes choices, and choices mean options—very exciting ones if you let them be!

Real Life Options

Among the biggest hold-backs for people is that they do not pursue their passions and live their true lives. They are not true to themselves, and so often their efforts will be uninspired and minimally effective. One of the reasons that happens is that people think that life comes down to a choice between one of two things: passion or money.

Think about this. How many people are stuck in dead-end jobs, or running the treadmill that is life’s rat race, because they need to make money? How many people sit day in and day out, waiting for the clock to strike so they can go home, have a few hours of freedom, and pursue their real passions, at least until it is time to get up and do it all over again? A great many people are doing just this, making a choice to make money instead of living their passion.

To be clear, I do not dispute the fact that you need to make money in order to live freely. Money is the tool of the modern age—it’s what allows you the freedom to live your life and passions. BUT you do not have to choose between the two. There are many ways to combine these efforts. When you do, you find that you are a twice-empowered person who is motivated and inspired to succeed.

Passion Or Money Is Not The Question

Too many people live life thinking that they have to decide between one or the other, passion or money. The best life is not a choice between these two at all, but a combination of it.

In future posts we’ll explore this further and look at some ways that passion and money can work in tandem. Until then, consider that your life is not a compromise, and start thinking of how you can build wealth by building the strongest foundation upon these two.
