Positive Objectivity

Saturday, July 4th, 2009

The last post may have sounded to some like we wealth creators live in a dreamland where we think all things are good, and we can just think our way to only good things happening in our lives. While that’s close to the truth, it’s not the case; so before we get too many critics offering up their opinions, let’s try to set the issue straight.

Being Objective AND Positive

Just because you reset your default setting to one of positivity and progress does not mean that you are living in a dream-world and just pretending that bad things and unfortunate strokes or set-backs do not happen. Indeed, these are all part of life. Setbacks will happen, as well as unfortunate circumstances that are beyond your control. It’s what you do in the face of adversity that matters.

You can still be positive and objective—one does not preclude the other. It’s true that smart investors, wealth creators, and businesspeople, or even just smart people, carefully weigh the choices at the crossroads of their lives and take an objective view before making solid decisions. But most people do this from the viewpoint of cynicism, and that’s where they go wrong.

Expect The Best

The point is not to invite trouble by always expecting the worst. You should expect positive things to happen and expect that you can make the best out of them. You need to invite in good things, progress, and success by going after it and choosing how you will view situations in life.

Whatever you go out looking for in life is exactly what you can expect to find. So if your default is to find trouble, no doubt you will; if your default is to find positivity and success, you can count on finding that, too. Be objective, but expect good things in life, and your life will be good as a result to be sure.

Wealth Creation, Reality Creation

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

I owe due credit to my good friend Ange Recchia of Buzzing with Ange for this post. Hers was a timely reminder of a fit theme that runs throughout nearly all wealth creation resources.

Your Hand In Creation

humblebeginningAnge’s timely reminder was that the one central theme she came to know well from all of the experts and wealth creators that she followed was this one simple quote:

“You create your reality; what you think about comes about.”

It’s true, and I’ve had the same experience. We create our own destinies through our attitude and mindset. We make the decisions about how an experience will impact on our lives. Unfortunately, far too often people make the wrong decisions and decide to let things become burdens and hurdles instead of opportunities or manageable situations. We relinquish control of our lives by not taking control and deciding how much of an impact and what kind of impact any given thing will have upon us.

Even “bad” situations can go our way if we handle them right—which means learning from the experience and refusing to dwell upon it—refusing to give them any more power in our lives than they should.

The Whole Life Experience

As Ange says, this is not at all limited to wealth creation. You create the reality of your life in every aspect—health, wealth, relationships, lifestyle, family… Really, in order to be the most successful in one area you need to create a positive, healthy reality in the other, because no two of these are ever unconnected. The lifestyle that you make possible will be directly correlated to the wealth you build, which is directly related to your family’s lifestyle and happiness, and on and on.

Your life is your reality, and that reality is what you make it. Understanding that one simple fact is probably about 99% of the battle. It’s an extremely empowering thing to know this, and a wonderful stress relief to know that yes, you can create your life and live it to the fullest; and it all starts with your decision-making and reality creation process.
