Make The Most Of Wealth Appointments

Monday, April 20th, 2009

Now we’ve gotten through the hardest part of setting your schedule for wealth creation. We’ve figured out how you can make the time; we’ve figured out how to make that new schedule a priority habit; up until now that time may not have been your most productive, but you’ve set the stage to make it so. Now, let’s look at just a couple of ways to maximise that time and make it the productive and prosperous time it should be.

Get Ready For Wealth!

I’m going to speak in more general terms than what you might be expecting. This isn’t about choosing and following a wealth creation program, although that will certainly be something you should use this time to Time for Wealth!do. This is more about getting ready to use that time effectively, in whatever way you need to be using it—because we are all at different points in our journeys to financial freedom and prosperity, and so we’ll all need to use this time differently. Actually, your wealth creation program will help you to decide what tasks and goals to attend to.

In general terms, though, you can maximize your time by preparing yourself mentally. Any task that you come to mentally prepared for and ready to attack will have much more motivation behind it, and be much more productive.

Plan Ahead

For starters, plan ahead for your appointment. This doesn’t so much mean to know what specifically you are going to do that day (you’ll figure that out as you go along), it means to plan in your mind the reason for your appointment. For instance, you wouldn’t go to a business meeting or a doctor’s appointment without having a reason, so give yourself the reason and explanations you need to tell your mind what and why you are doing this. Then you’ll know why it matters to keep the appointment.

Then, prepare yourself ahead of time for whatever the tasks will be. This means that you need to set the mood for performing whatever tasks need doing. When you prepare mentally to spend a quiet hour researching and reading in your subject of interest, or attacking a new and exciting wealth creation strategy, you’ll be looking forward to doing it, and not dreading what lies ahead.

Creating wealth is about mindset all around. Set your mind to maximise your wealth appointment time, and you’ll be raring to go when you arrive.

Sticking To Your Appointment Schedule

Sunday, April 19th, 2009

So far we’ve talked over the importance of scheduling appointments for wealth creation; we’ve talked about setting an appointment time that you will keep and respect; and we’ve talked about ways to find that time despite your busy life and schedule. Now, let’s seal the deal and make sure that this is not a fleeting resolution, but one that sticks with you and grows into true wealth and prosperity.

Making It Stick

Sticking to an appointment schedule for the first few days usually isn’t all that hard; at that point it’s exciting and new and you’re motivated to make it work. But sticking with it for the long-term, so that wealth creation becomes a reality, with a chance to grow into a lifestyle and not just a daily activity, is a different story.

Habitual Creatures

A New Path to WealthAs humans we are creatures of habit. That means that anything we are going to do for any extended amount of time needs to become part of our habitual routine. It’s said that on average it takes a person about three weeks, or 21 days, to develop a new habit to the point where it will be accepted as a “given” part of the day.

If you want to make your new wealthy habit stick, you need to commit to it and force yourself into doing it for an extended period of time—for about the equivalent of three weeks. If you really want to make your wealth creation appointment a part of your life, you need to first develop that schedule and timing that works for you, and then commit to keeping it until it reaches that level of psychological priority as all the other things you just know you “have to” do every day—things like getting dressed, eating, (hopefully) exercising, and going to work (which you’ll be able to replace entirely through your wealth-building efforts one day soon!).

It may take some effort to get to this point, and that’s okay. Again, even if these are not your most productive wealth creation days, at least you are showing up and prioritising them in your mind. The rest will follow if you can just force yourself into making your financial prosperity a real habit of priority in your life.

More Ways To Make Time For Wealth

Saturday, April 18th, 2009

Adjusting your sleep schedule may not be a possibility for you; some of us just don’t sleep enough as it is. But you still need to prioritise and make the time for your wealth appointments if you want to achieve financial prosperity and financial freedom. So what other options are there if waking earlier or staying up later won’t work for you?

More Tips For Making Time For Wealth

By prioritising your time you’ll find that there is time for wealth creation; these tips can help you make that time.

  • Cut Back Work Hours. Chances are you are devoting too much of your time to creating someone Making Timeelse’s wealth. It’s understandable that you need to make money now to keep up with bills and pay for the things you and your family need. But if you are working many overtime hours then you are probably sucking up all your flex-time for attending to your own wealth creation. Evaluate the situation and see if you can cut a few hours from your work-week to work for you. This may require you to cut back on certain expenditures, but it’ll be worth it in short time.
  • Stay Later To Work On Wealth. For some of us, our work office may be the best place to attend to wealth creation; with all the activity and obligations of home, that may not be the best place for your appointment time to be held. When you are at work you are already in that “mode”, so maybe it will work for you to just stay an extra hour in the quiet work-oriented location and hold your appointment there. It may even be more time-efficient if you spend that hour on developing wealth instead of in rush-hour traffic and then have a shorter commute home as a result.
  • Make Your Day More Productive. If you are more efficient and productive throughout your dedicated daytime or work hours, you’ll find that there just is more time because you have already attended to business. Work to make your life more efficient and productive and you’ll open up time that used to be wasted on things so insignificant you probably can’t remember them. Make time by wasting less.

These are just a few more suggestions for finding the time for wealth creation appointments. Many of us have to be creative in the beginning, so that we can get out of the rat-race and enjoy that truly free and prosperous life.

Now, it’s your turn to share. How do you or have you made time for building wealth?

Finding The Time For Wealth Creation Appointments

Friday, April 17th, 2009

Finding the time to schedule your wealth creation appointment is probably going to be the hardest part of setting one. Who has extra time in their day? Not many of us, especially if we are attending to all the important parts of it and balancing out our lives and schedules. Nevertheless, with a little prioritisation and schedule modification, you can find the time to dedicate to yourself and your own financial prosperity.

Tips For Finding Wealth Creation Time

Time is hard to come by; so sometimes, you can’t just find it, you have to make it. Here are a few suggestions to get you started.

  • Timing is EverythingEarlier Riser. Here’s one option, which is usually one of the simplest (not necessarily the easiest, as giving up an hour of sleep isn’t always!)—get up an hour earlier, and suddenly you’ve created an hour of new time you didn’t have before. That’s an unclaimed hour that didn’t exist in your schedule before, and so is not already claimed by some other obligation or activity. Just make sure that you allot this time to wealth creation from the start, and don’t ever allow those other obligations to overtake it, which is all too easy to do.
  • Night Owl. Some people are just not morning people. Some people just function much better in the later hours of the day. So if getting up an hour earlier is just not in your genetic makeup, try going to bed an hour later instead. Just like rising early, this gives you an hour of unclaimed time that you can dedicate (again, from the start!) to building your financial prosperity program.

Making Sleep-Schedule Changes Work

Now, no one will say it’s easy to just change your sleep schedule and give up those precious sleeping hours. It may take a little doing. The best ways to make this work are to set your schedule for sleeping and stick to it—even on the weekends; the “experts” recommend that you maintain a regular sleep schedule and let your body adjust to it and stay adjusted to it. You can even get used to doing without that hour if you train your body to it and stick to it. Don’t expect the adjustment to happen overnight, give yourself a week or two to get used to it. These may not be your most productive weeks, but at least they set the stage for more productive days ahead.

Come back tomorrow and we’ll talk about more possibilities that you don’t necessarily need to lose sleep over.
