More Currencies Than Cash

Friday, July 31st, 2009

Cash may be the bottom line, but each and every one of us has other currencies that we can deal in that make our lives better, but that also can come in very useful in creating wealth.

What You Have To Offer

blessingsrockMoney is really just one part of wealth creation, and it’s not even the largest part. The largest contributing factor you have in creating wealth is your mindset and attitude. That is a currency that cannot be replaced or bartered. That is one of your absolute most important currencies both for yourself and for others who rely upon you. If you hold the one simple currency of positive mindset and pro-you attitude, you will go far and achieve all of your personal prosperity goals.

There are other currencies, too, that you will find are invaluable. Among them are integrity, ethics, dedication, motivation, talents, and ambition—and I’m sure there are many you can add to the list. You might notice that these are not negative attributes that I highlight, but very positive ones. Remember that wealth is not a bad thing—making money and being rich only gets a bad reputation because of the negative emotions and attitudes that we come to associate with it over time (something you need to work to overcome to be wealthy and prosperous). It’s not a deserving reputation at all.

How Currencies Come Into Play

You may be wondering how these other currencies will come into play, and the truth is that there is not one answer or one way for me to answer that question. I’m sure with just a little thought you’ll come up with several examples all your own. Mindset and attitude as currency are rather obvious and have been discussed at length here before; the others are currencies that you will come to rely upon as time moves on. You’ll find that those come in the form of unexpected opportunities, partnerships, assistance, support, and stronger foundations of learning, wealth, and dealings, in addition to many unpredictable but wonderful ways.

We all have a wealthy person inside of us, we just need to decide to let him or her shine through. Developing and capitalizing on your personal currencies and talents is just one way to do that. It also happens to be one of the ways that you can feel the most confident and inspired in your path and choices—a totally winning situation all around.

The Symbiosis Of Wealth And Life

Monday, July 6th, 2009

Many people think they need to choose between wealth and living their most fulfilling life. They feel this way because they believe that in order to build wealth you need to deny some part of yourself, or undertake actions that are contrary to your personal standards and morals. There’s a reason people feel this way, but it’s far from being the truth.

Not Either Or

The people who continue to believe this fail to understand one thing—being wealthy and living a fulfilling life is not an changing-odds1either/or proposition. It doesn’t even make much sense to say that it is. So why is it that so many people continue to believe this?

The reason it is so hard for people to believe that they can live true and be wealthy is their attitude and mindset. We become so conditioned to believe that being wealthy in some way means that you are a bad person, or have tread all over other people to build that wealth that we begin to look down on being wealthy. We build it up in our minds until we believe that it is nobler to struggle financially and work our way doggedly through life. This is all the result of what we have absorbed early in life, and even what we have been taught outright (…money is the root of all evil, money changes everything for the worse, money changes you, wealthy people are selfish and care only about making money….).

Living A Symbiotic Life

Unfortunately, we tend to believe these things for far too long. By the time we are once again seeking wealth, we need to spend a lot of time correcting these embedded attitudes so that we can create wealth. Doing that requires understanding that there does not need to be this either/or proposition, but that life and wealth are a symbiotic relationship wherein achieving the most fulfilling life requires having wealth, and you do not need to prostitute your beliefs in order to achieve that. You certainly can live well and be prosperous, and not have to hurt another to do it.

Dare To Be Rich!

Sunday, April 26th, 2009

The hardest part of achieving wealth and prosperity is getting started and committing to a course of ongoing action. So much of the time the reason that we find that hard to do is because negativity and cynicism is ingrained within us; the knee-jerk response to possibility is that it can’t be done, or is silly or ridiculous. We are so programmed toward cynicism that it is nearly impossible to overcome and actually believe in possibility by the time we are adults.

Strategic Daring

We’ve talked about a few ways to overcome this, from rewiring your subconscious and developing the Dare to Succeedmillionaire mindset to just plain ignoring the naysayers. Now, here’s another—fun—option. Dare yourself to succeed!

As humans we all love a good dare. We love to be dared and to prove the naysayers wrong. We love to throw it back in the faces of everyone who told us we wouldn’t or couldn’t. What better, sweeter victory is there than to prove everyone wrong who said you could never be prosperous and financially free? Who said you’d never be rich because wealth was only for the rich? As the saying goes, living well is the sweetest revenge….

Dare Your Little Voice

This same strategy works for that nagging little voice inside of you that doesn’t believe in you either. That side of yourself that you never liked, that is always talking you out of trying to achieve true wealth and financial freedom. Show that voice who’s boss! The next time it “dares” you to try it, take that dare, and dare to succeed!

If you just can’t muster the confidence (yet) to make a real run at wealth, get started in whatever way you can. Dare yourself to go on the most profitable adventure you’ve ever taken, and find out just how daring and successful you can be!

Showing Up Is Half The Battle!

Saturday, April 25th, 2009

Motivation is key in wealth creation success. To achieve financial prosperity, you have to take a series of wealthy actions. It’s a process that progresses over time, and one that requires ongoing motivation to stay committed, continue acting, and continue to achieve all your wealth goals. That is why so many posts here are devoted to motivating you and helping you stay the course to financial prosperity (which is, in reality, life prosperity—wealth is your key to freedom and a fulfilling life!).

Life In The Real World

Real Life InspirationAll of this being said, in the real world you will have days when you are less motivated to take those wealthy actions; you may be feeling overwhelmed, or discouraged by a perceived lack of progress, or just plain tired. On those days, it helps if you can make just the small commitment to sit down and attend to what needs doing—to some small action that can get the ball started.

Most of the time showing up is half the battle. If you can get yourself that far, and break out of that rut you’ve been left in, then you will be motivated to keep moving and keep acting and keep on achieving.

Action Begets Action

Just as money is attracted to money, wealth attracted to wealth, and positivity attracted to positivity (yes, we’re talking the Secret Law of Attraction here), action attracts more action. Once you get started it is so much easier to keep going. It probably will not even feel like the chore you thought it would be, and you’ll probably be intrinsically motivated to continue on.

And so, for those times when inspiration and motivation is just a little harder to come by, commit to just showing up and doing something. That simple dedication and action will get you the start you need for the days when that motivation is just a little harder to come by. Soon enough, all that dedication will add up to be a very considerable force of wealth creation and achieved success.

Schedule Balance

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009

By now we’ve got a pretty comprehensive plan for setting appointments for wealth creation. To give one last word (maybe…I can’t promise I won’t be inspired to write more if I think of something later) I’d like to remind you that as you make these modifications to your schedule and priorities, remember to prioritise all the important aspects of your life, and not just the priority of making time for wealth creation.

Make Time For A Balanced Life

One of the things that [Name Withheld] talked about in his videos was making sure that you do not just build wealth and focus solely on that while ignoring other important life aspects. In order to live our best lives, we need to not sacrifice the things that really matter—things like health, family, and relationships. We need to make sure there is a balance there, and attend to all of these important life factors. As we talked about before, when you sacrifice one for another you effectively kill off a part of yourself and your life; and that is a part of your life that you cannot be guaranteed to get back.

Cut Out The Fluff

This is hard to do, I know. But life is not an either-or proposition where we attend to one thing at a time. There are a few priorities that always need to be attended to. It’s important for your best life to find out what those are and to make the time for all of them. Cut out only the things that do not matter, that are negotiable. Take some care in doing that so that you can balance out a life of success and happiness. Balance your schedule to balance your life and live a wealthy, fulfilling, prosperous life all around.
