Be In Charge Of Your Money

Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009

You have most likely noticed that the most financially secure individuals maintain total control of their money at all times. If you lay down a foundation to be in charge your money, you will be able to make sure to realize your financial freedom and being living your comfortable lifestyle. Additionally, the ability to plan and maintain control your expenses is the beginning of successful wealth creation.

Having a solid financial plan does not necessarily mean that you are guaranteed success; you must also take the time to constantly carry out your plan in order to truly realize prosperity and financial independence. However, do not let money take over your life. The dilemma that most people face is how to complete be charge of their money.

Take Charge

It is easy to determine if you are actually in charge of your money or not. Think about your income from the last month. Are you able to account for every dime spent? If you are in complete charge of your money, the answer to that question is a quick, “yes”. Individuals who have managed to create wealth successfully have one primary factor in common; all are in complete control of their income and expenses.

Your money should go where you want it to go, instead of you going where your money takes you. Control of your income requires you to establish a steady stream of revenue of which you have total control. Two of the popular income sources are investment and employment.

It makes no difference how much money you actually earn. It does not matter if you are a business owner or an employ. In order to achieve financial freedom, you do not need a high financial IQ; all you need is to be able to spend only a small amount of your monthly income and save a percentage to ensure you are on the path to wealth creation. Now days, you need a strategic financial plan, and you must take key steps to put that plan into practice. Then and only then will you be truly financially free.

Living Life Verbally

Thursday, July 16th, 2009

I’m playing on words a bit here today, because I don’t actually mean to live your life speaking aloud, I mean to live a life where the words that matter are verbs. To live a life of action and movement, as opposed to one of stagnation.

What’s In A Verb?

Humour me and let’s review a little English 101, and talk about what a verb is.

A verb is an ‘action’ word. As Wikipedia explains it, a verb is a “doing” word; this opposed to a noun that simply represents something—a person, place or thing.

Dictionary.com has an even better definition: a verb “expresses existence, action, or occurrence”.

The moral of the story is that verbs mean action. Verbs are about what you DO in life, not about what label is placed upon you.

Verbiage In Wealth Action

So what is the advantage to verbiage? It’s all in the action.

As we know, creating wealth requires action—doing—verbs! It requires more than just talking and reading, it requires us to be willing to take actions to improve our lives.

Just changing the way you think about wealth, wealth creation strategy, and all the rest will help you to change your mindset to one of action. For instance, instead of thinking about prosperity (which is just an elusive ‘thing’ with little focused meaning), think about prospering. Believe that you are prospering. Know that when you are prospering, you are taking prosperous actions, and working toward greater prosperity, and the heart of it all is in that wealthy action, that doing word, prospering.

The Power Of Words

There is great power in words, to be sure. A few simple words can guide your life to greater wealth and increased happiness and financial freedom. Make those words count by choosing words of action—words that are not stationary, not stagnant, and not in the past, but words that are in the present moving toward the future. Words that are actually changing your life, and progressing you to wealth.

Wealth Creation: Who Are You In It For?

Wednesday, June 24th, 2009

When we talk about creating wealth, we primarily focus on you, the individual wealth creator. That’s because, as you know, wealth and prosperity starts with the individual. Does that mean, then, that you need to be in this for the one and only you?

Who Do You Create Wealth For?

group-success1It does help for you to know who you are creating wealth for. Is it for you and your happiness alone? Is it for you and your family—children, spouse, maybe parents and others whom you dream of helping along? Is it for grown children and grandchildren? Is it for people who have not yet entered your life, but that you expect one day will be (a spouse and family…) Or is it even for a wider population such as charities or local people down on their luck? All of these? None of these?

Your Vision Of Prosperity

A ‘yes’ answer to any one of these questions would be right. There is no right or wrong or one single answer. Creating wealth should be done with a vision of the end-goal and achievements in mind. So if you envision your wealthy life one shared with a family and your wealth providing for them, that is what your wealth vision should be—you and yours in a comfortable home with everything you want and the time and financial freedom to enjoy each other. We’re not all cut out for the family lifestyle, though, so whatever your vision is, and whoever the people are who are in it, are who you are creating wealth for.

This can be kind of a funny subject for people to balance, because on the one hand wealth creation is so individually focused on what you want and aim to achieve; on the other, there are all these people who you hope to achieve it for, and that can seem to go against the grain of what you are learning—to focus on your own efforts, attitudes, wants, and mindset. Keep in mind that if you do not take care of you, you cannot take care of yours; so in the end, yes, wealth creation is very much a personal endeavor, but it can very much be one that includes anyone and everyone you hold dear, too.

The Spotlight Is On You Now

Monday, June 15th, 2009

At the end of the last post I said that life is not a dress rehearsal, and indeed it is not. This is it—the big show. The spotlight is on you now, so never take for granted that you can live a life that is contrary to your being and come out smiling in the end. Or even in the present. Now is your time to shine, and there’s no way of knowing if there is a “second chance” until it is too late, so best to make every conscious moment count now.

The Path You Choose

pathtosuccess_ed1This is why the path that you choose to creating wealth matters so much. This is why you want to be on the path of abundance and positive prosperity. This is why the scarcity mentality is no place for you to be living.

You do not want to waste the precious gift of time and energy that you have been given on stress and strife. No one wants that—that’s why we seek out wealth! We seek to build wealth to relieve the stress and strife that money issues and finances have brought us. Then why add to your stress by living a life that is contrary to your goals? Wouldn’t it be much better to live a life of enjoyment and prosperity that is positive and leaves you with a conscience that is free and clear?

Enjoying The Path Now And Later

Although we tend to focus on the end result, and on being able to live with yourself and your choices when your wealth arrives, we also need to focus on the present—because this is your life, and the only time you can be guaranteed to have. Yes, it helps to look at this from an end-up point of view, because that drives home the consequence of your choices, but you have to live an abundant life throughout the journey, and enjoy each and every day of your life.

Decide who you want to be when your wealth arrives, but also acknowledge two other things:

First, that you indeed have wealth now. Everyone does, they just have to find it. And

Two, that the choices you make today matter both today and tomorrow, and you need to be able to live as best you can as the result of those choices.

Never Mind What You ‘Should’ Be Feeling

Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009

Society and the media try to dictate everything for us, including our emotions. For almost anything you can think of in life, the masses have prescribed an emotion. All too often we fall into the trap of feeling how we ‘should’ feel, instead of what feels right to us.

‘Should’ Feelings Bring You Down

thoughtful-emotionThink about the economic situation of today. Turn on the TV, listen to the news, and all you hear about is the doom and gloom of the world’s economy. You hear how consumers and even large corporations have no confidence, how they will not part with money even if they have it and have needs and wants, and how desperate everyone is. All you hear is how hard life is. You walk away ‘knowing’ that you should feel the same.

But should you? WHY should you? Is there a real reason in your life to feel depressed and negative about the current state of affairs and the future? Is there nothing good here? No hope for improvement?

What’s Your Real Situation?

Stop a minute and think about your true current state of affairs. Are you and yours going hungry? Are you out of work? Are you incapable of earning? Is there a real reason why you should be going without any one thing that you need, or even want within reason?

For some of you the answer to some of those above questions may be a ‘yes’, and certainly I do feel for you—I am not heartless. The point is, is this prescribed emotion doing you any good? Is it helpful to you to feel stress and anger over your situation, or will it do you more good to take stock in what you still have, and think positively about your ability and the future? Could this be a prime opportunity to take some new-found time and spend it in wealth creation and/or in building a more stable, independent future for yourself by doing something new, like starting an online business or internet marketing venture?

I’m sure you all see where I am heading with this. Just because every media outlet you turn to is telling you how bad life is does not mean you have to accept that prescription. Life throws you curves, but you are a capable person, capable of controlling your own emotions, of choosing to live positively, and of creating the life of wealth, prosperity, and happiness that you desire. YOU be the one to dictate what you should feel, and never mind what people tell you you ‘should’ be feeling!
