Never Mind What You ‘Should’ Be Feeling

Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009

Society and the media try to dictate everything for us, including our emotions. For almost anything you can think of in life, the masses have prescribed an emotion. All too often we fall into the trap of feeling how we ‘should’ feel, instead of what feels right to us.

‘Should’ Feelings Bring You Down

thoughtful-emotionThink about the economic situation of today. Turn on the TV, listen to the news, and all you hear about is the doom and gloom of the world’s economy. You hear how consumers and even large corporations have no confidence, how they will not part with money even if they have it and have needs and wants, and how desperate everyone is. All you hear is how hard life is. You walk away ‘knowing’ that you should feel the same.

But should you? WHY should you? Is there a real reason in your life to feel depressed and negative about the current state of affairs and the future? Is there nothing good here? No hope for improvement?

What’s Your Real Situation?

Stop a minute and think about your true current state of affairs. Are you and yours going hungry? Are you out of work? Are you incapable of earning? Is there a real reason why you should be going without any one thing that you need, or even want within reason?

For some of you the answer to some of those above questions may be a ‘yes’, and certainly I do feel for you—I am not heartless. The point is, is this prescribed emotion doing you any good? Is it helpful to you to feel stress and anger over your situation, or will it do you more good to take stock in what you still have, and think positively about your ability and the future? Could this be a prime opportunity to take some new-found time and spend it in wealth creation and/or in building a more stable, independent future for yourself by doing something new, like starting an online business or internet marketing venture?

I’m sure you all see where I am heading with this. Just because every media outlet you turn to is telling you how bad life is does not mean you have to accept that prescription. Life throws you curves, but you are a capable person, capable of controlling your own emotions, of choosing to live positively, and of creating the life of wealth, prosperity, and happiness that you desire. YOU be the one to dictate what you should feel, and never mind what people tell you you ‘should’ be feeling!

Abundance Mentality: Do You Have It?

Monday, June 1st, 2009

The term “abundance mentality” is credited to author Stephen Covey, although it appears in many, many other places since it has been popularized in wealth and success circles. It is another way of describing the same type of mindset that success masters like Napoleon Hill and Wallace Wattles, [Name Withheld], and many other modern success communicators illustrated. The good news is, it’s not overly difficult to have, as long as you can keep focused on the fact that you want the abundance mentality.

Plenty To Go Around

abundance-mentalityHere is a good basic summary of the abundance mentality, courtesy of Wikipedia:

“…a person believes there are enough resources and success to share with others…It is commonly contrasted with the scarcity mindset, which is founded on the idea that, given a finite amount of resources, a person must hoard their belongings and protect them from others. Individuals with an abundance mentality are supposed to be able to celebrate the success of others rather than be threatened by it.”

If you think of this mindset in terms of creating wealth, it’s easy to see how developing an abundance mentality will be more beneficial than maintaining its opposite, the “Scarcity Mindset”. Apply it to the Law of Attraction and think about what you will be drawing to you—abundance, success, mutual respect and goodwill. Consider applying its opposite, and I fear to think how much struggle you’ll be inviting into your life!

Taking Sides

It’s not hard to figure out how people come to live life in the scarcity mindset, but it is a sad state of affairs. Think how much happier we would all be if we all believed in the abundance mindset, and all lived life with a positive and generous spirit. That’s the world I want to be living in—and so it’s the world I work hard to create!

Broke Now? Beautiful!

Monday, May 18th, 2009

It’s not that often that you hear me celebrating being broke. This is, after all, a wealth creation blog that is all about personal empowerment and success—achieving your dreams and living financially free! Not too many of us are dreaming of a life of financial stress and need (although that is the reality for the vast, vast majority of the world!!). So why would I say a thing like that? It’s beautiful to be broke now?

Passionate Positivity

If there is one thing I have personally become known for, it’s living a life of passion and positivity. I find positivity in everything I can. Which still does not explain why I’d be so hyped about people being broke, when I really want to see them prospering and living their best life ever. So I’ll explain.

Better Places To Go

empty-pocketsThere is positivity to be found in your life in any stage you happen to be in. There is something of positive value there, whether you think so or not. If you are broke or near broke now, or even bringing in money and just struggling and stressed, there are advantages here.

First of all, as the saying goes, you only have one place to go when you are at the bottom—up! You are right now proving to yourself each and every day that you are a survivor. If you can do this, you can do anything! You’re strong and you don’t quit. You’ve got everything it takes to be a raging financial success!

Coming a little more down to earth, though, consider this: If you are now living on “less” you have fewer financial obligations. That means that you can start right now with some small investment or wealth creation strategy, grow it, and put it to work for you again. Because you are surviving on less you have more potential free money. You have learned to manage under the worst of circumstances, so anything that comes to you now can really be put to good work for you. Even a little can turn into a lot!

All of us travel from one point in our lives to another. Being down now is no indication of your future—not if you take that future firmly in hand and realize its potential. Capitalize on the positive in your life now, and enjoy your wealth as it grows!

All Things Begin In Thought

Wednesday, April 8th, 2009

When Napoleon Hill introduced this next quote, he was speaking in reference to the power of thought—to the fact that a thought, a single thought, is the foundation of all things. His hope was that readers would take this point to heart and apply it to the great things that they want in life—like wealth and prosperity. He knew, though (because he’s seen this at least as often, and probably more often), that a thought could be a foundation for failure just as easily as it could for goodness and well-being.

Thoughts For Better Or Worse

Thoughts are Things“Both poverty and wealth are the offspring of thought.”

It’s funny that a lot of times people have a hard time accepting that something as simple as a thought could be the father of great wealth; but when you tell someone that thought is the father of poverty, too, people suddenly start to warm to the idea. It’s almost as if we can’t accept any positives without acknowledging our demons and struggles.

Stop and think about this quote, though, and you’ll soon see that it’s true. We think our way to our own personal positions. If they are positive, it’s because we have a positive mind backing them—a belief in our own selves, in our deserving of good things, and in our ability to produce them.

If our position is negative, and you trace the line backwards, you’ll surely uncover a line of negative thoughts and actions, and/or a breakdown in the positive thought model. Basically, you find a lack of confidence in our own thoughts and abilities.

These are important things to know and acknowledge, because when you understand that it is your thought process that is controlling your outcome, you can work to make it one of more confidence and more positive productivity. You can pay conscious attention to correcting your thought patterns, and thus leveraging positive influence on your life. Always be aware that your thoughts do matter—they matter implicitly—and that the path of thought that you choose is deciding your destiny. Choose well, and live well!

Where Is Your Opportunity?

Wednesday, March 25th, 2009

We know now that opportunity is out there, despite the news reports. The question, then, is where is yours? And what will be your plan to go after it?

Capitalise Opportunity

It may seem like all the economic news is bad, but realistically things are not as bad as they seem. The day to day living of most people is much better than what you might make it out to be. For many, adjusting in the new economic climate is a matter of change—of looking for new ways to earn, make money, and indeed, build wealth. You would be much better served reading up on the changing face of the economy and the new world order rather than focusing on the bad news that is headlining (remember—there’s always bad news if you choose to focus on it!). Of course, my intent is not at all to belittle the struggles faced by people caught up in the many global economic crises, but to help you shed some positive, realistic light on the situation—and to help you if you are one of them!

As people adjust, they begin to change their ways and habits. But they still have needs. That opens up a lot of different types of opportunity. There are the more obvious opportunities of investing and stock markets and the opportunity to buy low. Real estate is an area of particular opportunity for those ready to jump, with the possibility of property options investing opening up even more opportunities. And, as people begin to change their lives, they begin to look for ways to do it—which makes online business and the possibilities for info-preneurs even greater.

Times Never Better

This is a just a list of a few rambling opportunities that are out there. The point is, things are changing, and the time might never be better for you take stock and make an action plan for building wealth and achieving financial freedom. If there is one thing to learn from the lessons of others, it is that you can rely far more on yourself than any employer. With the innumerable opportunities that are opening up, it’s time to get your wealth mindset together, and take advantage of a once in a lifetime opportunity.
