When Wealth Really Comes

Wednesday, August 26th, 2009

In his book, Napoleon Hill did not leave us dangling and not explaining his previous quote (of yesterday’s post). The man was always careful to offer a full explanation.

When Wealth Arrives

“Wealth, when it comes in huge quantities, is never the result of hard work! Wealth comes, if at all, in response to definite demands, based on the application of definite principles, and not by chance or luck.”

If I could teach you one thing about building wealth (in addition to the vital importance of the wealth mindset), it would probably be what is encompassed in that sentence. While I am all for people being self made, and while action is required of each and every one of us in order to build wealth, it is important to understand that it takes so much more than just working hard to get anywhere. You have to focus that hard work and effort in ways that can create wealth, and also mold your efforts with the principles that create wealth—the principles that are common to all wealthy people, the guidebook by which wealthy people operate and build wealth (the principles that you’ll find in Hill’s Mindset Mastery book).

To build wealth and achieve financial freedom you cannot leave your life to chance or some stroke of luck. So do what I did; stop buying up lottery tickets and hoping to strike it big, and instead put your energy into believing in yourself. Demand that life give you wealth. Learn and apply the principles for building wealth. Work hard if you like to, but accompany that work with effective planning and actions, and positive mindset. We waste a lot of our mental and physical energy in ineffective methods of obtaining money—many that were always next to hopeless. Free your energy and direct it toward wealth, and it will certainly follow.

Give Your Children The Mindset Gift

Wednesday, August 12th, 2009

You can give your child (children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and others) the greatest educational gift of all. After love and support, this is the most effective thing that you could do to secure the lives of the children in your life.

The Gift

childhood-giftThat gift is, of course, the gift of positive mindset and financial attitude. It’s a simple gift to give, but it will set those children up for the most prosperous and free future possible. Imagine if someone had given you such a gift, how much better off you would be.

Giving the gift of positive mindset and financial attitude is easy. There is no formal course necessary, and it costs you nothing but time and meaningful interaction. All you need to do is talk with your children and teach them along the way and during those learning moments of life. You’ll find the opportunities to impart these gifts are many and varied. That simplicity and accessibility does not demean their importance, though; this is the best thing you could do to secure your child’s financial future.

A Better Foot Forward

This is directly related to the last couple of conversations we had, where we talked about how the direct and indirect money lessons and attitudes and opinions towards money have affected your life and your ability to successfully build wealth. Most people are raised thinking that money is ‘evil’ or is not ‘everything’ and that there is essentially no use striving for it—all only because of the justifications we’ve been raised with for not having it. These are the financial attitudes that you have to work to correct now, and we all know that change as an adult is easier said than done.

Imagine, though, how easily you could prevent that sort of attitude and financial mindset for your child or children. Imagine how much better off they would be from the very beginning of their independent lives if you did. Imagine your children living an entire life of wealth creation without any of the mental or emotional roadblocks that you had to come to terms with.

You could give your child the most useful financial gift of all without even spending a dime. Just with your time and attention and positive example, the children who touch your life could prosper each and every day of their lives. What a wonderful world that would be!

Your Wealth Presence

Thursday, June 18th, 2009

We started to touch on this subject the other day when we were talking about abundance mentality versus scarcity mindset and where you would be when your wealth arrived. The topic today is living in the present.

The Wealth Present

Because wealth is something we are trying to achieve, something we are trying to better and increase, we tend to think of it as something for the future. Obviously to a very large extent wealth is something in the future, but it is also something in your present, and you cannot deny that, either. Denying it and/or not living in the present only causes an undue amount of stress and longing.

Everyone has wealth in their life—right now, in the present. Acknowledging that prevents that issue of undue longing, along with others, and also helps you to capitalize on your mindset and the Law of Attraction and other wealth-building principles. Remember that wealth can take many forms, so if you try hard enough you will find it in your life right now, giving you a starting point to build on.

Positive In The Present

The greatest thing that acknowledging all wealth now does is it puts you in a positive state of mind. As we know, that positive mindset is integral to wealth and financial success. You do yourself a great deal of good and attract more positivity and success to you just through the acknowledgment of what you have and what you have built as you’ve progressed.

The other thing that you accomplish when you do this is you stop wasting the precious time of your life. Life is a gift to be shared and enjoyed, and you should be living it to the best of your ability each and every day. What sense is it to wallow in despair now and to hope that something better will come of that? That is entirely contrary to what you are working to achieve.

As we work to create wealth we need to look toward the future to set and work towards our larger goals; but we also need to live in the present. Wealth is a lifestyle, not a one-off occurrence that comes and goes. Be wealthy now, be wealthy in the future, and take every gift this life gives you.
