Credit Kids With Real Wealth Knowledge

Tuesday, August 19th, 2008

educationIn posts past we’ve talked about how it is important to include kids in your financial plans for wealth creation. We’ve talked about how much better the start in life for our kids could be if we applied what we know about financial empowerment and building wealth from the start. Every now and again I like to dedicate a post or two to these types of topics in the interest of building a better, simpler, wealthier life for the kids.

Giving Kids A Wealthy Vocabulary

It’s a lot easier to raise children with a wealthy mindset than to try to correct it later. I think any of us here who have been through this process, or are going through it now, could easily agree. And one of the ways we can make their lives easier from the start is to give them due credit for understanding the concepts and the language of wealth.

When you talk openly about finance and wealth with your children, you suddenly strip away the many barriers that go up in our paths to adulthood. You prevent children from forming the attitude of negativity around wealth and money, and negate the need for them to have to work to break down those walls later.

Meaningful Language

brainThe other thing that you do when you use real, meaningful language with children is teach them real, meaningful words and concepts. This is important because if a child knows the words and understands their meaning, they can learn from anyone who is speaking it. That educated child will be able to read and learn and recognize what it is they are exposed to. They’ll be ahead of the game because they will have that innate knowledge from the beginning, and so they can continue on to wealth and prosperity instead of just getting started (or worse, having to recover and relearn things they should have known all along—if only our traditional education would catch up to real, meaningful financial management and education!).

It’s a great thing that an adult does when they recognize their ability and right to wealth. But it’s an even greater thing they do when they pass on that knowledge and power to another, and give a child a strong financial start to life. Have real, meaningful financial conversations with the kids that matter to you and help them to a better life-start.

A Community Of Wealth

Friday, July 18th, 2008

prosperityThe Law of Attraction—of like attracting like—is a strong force in wealth creation. We’ve talked about the many forms and facets of this law, including how the thoughts you think and the company you keep is very much responsible for continued success in building wealth. We know that when we think positive thoughts, and surround ourselves with positive, like-minded people who are also committed to becoming wealthy and achieving financial success that we gravitate towards being more like them.

We also know that when we keep company with negative people who do not believe in wealth success, when we surround ourselves with poverty, that that is where we wind up ourselves. Logically, then, the thing to do is to keep as much company with wealth, prosperity, and positivity as possible.

The trouble with that is that we are not all surrounded by these types of people. It can be very difficult for many of us to find a significant company of like-minded successful individuals. So where do you go when present company is not conducive to your financial empowerment?

A Community Of Success At Your Fingertips

The internet has made wealth creation vastly easier in many ways. It has given us direct access to the best wealth-building resources and educational experiences; it has brought the knowledge and insight of leaders into the homes of everyone with a connection (or access to one) without the impeding cost of travel. And it has also brought us an entire online community of people with the same positive spirit and success-goals as we have. It has brought that all-important company of financial success to our virtual doorsteps.

You may live amongst some of the most poverty-stricken or negative individuals in the world, but you still have ready access to that all important community of success and wealth builders. You have the support of the entire online wealth creation community. You have the company you need to keep. The World Wide Web has made it easier today to engage with that company, and taken down yet another barrier to true financial wealth.

Is There Action In Your Thoughts?

Saturday, July 12th, 2008

Is there action in your thoughts? Is there a way for your thoughts to become your financial reality? Do your thoughts lead to financial success? To wealth creation?

Active Thought And Financial Success

It is true that you can think your way to wealth. Wealthy thoughts, positive thoughts, attract more of the same and pave the way to building wealth and financial freedom. But as our discussion of dreams versus thoughts showed us, thoughts are nothing without action.

moneyThoughts are active things—they require mental activity to live and grow and be. If there is no action in your thought, then you have nothing more than a dream. Therefore, it is not enough to just think about having money; you need to thinking about getting money or making money. You have to envision more than just you holding money, you have to envision you making money and building wealth.

Active thought leads to action

That action is your conduit to financial success. It is the means to the end, the way for you to achieve wealth and be rich. One without the other is useless. Many people are quick to embrace the concept of developing mindset for wealth creation—of thinking their way to financial wealth. They are quick to embrace it because it all sounds so easy; and people love easy, don’t they? If you only accept this concept because it sounds easy, though, you will be sorely disappointed. Because after you begin to think wealthy thoughts, you have to get to work and take wealthy actions. And you have to expend mental energy developing plans and actions that can invite wealth.

To build wealth and achieve true financial freedom you have to embrace wealth creation for all that it is—a thought process and an active process, a process of controlling the actions and making the effort that can make you rich. You have to learn to think and you have to learn to think actively. Develop action in your thought and you’ll have a way to actually become rich—to stop dreaming and start thinking and doing and succeeding!

Changing The Choices You Make

Tuesday, June 24th, 2008

Now that you understand that you are really the person in control of your life and your finances, you can start to make the changes that determine the outcome of your life. You can choose the real actions that will allow you to create wealth!

Daily Choices For Wealth Creation

Every day you have choices to make. You choose the bills that get paid, you choose the money that you spend, and you choose how to go about bringing in more money. You may even choose to let others take over the reins of control and make your choices for you—essentially operating on auto-pilot.

When you really break this down and apply it to wealth creation, or failure to create wealth, you see that the problem is not that people are incapable of making money, but that they are not making the right choices to build wealth; or again, that they are not empowering themselves because they are choosing not to be in control. The way to correct the problem, then, is to understand that you do have choices and make choices that will invite money and prosperity.

But You Have Bills To Pay

By now there are probably readers out there screaming at their computer screens, arguing that they do not have a real power of choice because they have bills, debts, and obligations. This I understand; I have them too; as does everyone else in the modern world. But I choose to control them and not let them control me. I choose to make my own wealth creation the priority. Until you choose to make yourself the priority, you will never become wealthy.

Does this mean you ignore your financial responsibilities to others? Ignore them would be too strong a word. By no means am I saying don’t pay yours bills. You may, however, choose to realign them and restructure your allocations of money.

It’s probably best if we leave off on this here, lest this turns into a discussion on individual financial management. How you choose to manage your finances and bills is up to you—which is really the point, isn’t it? You are in control of your money, and so you can start to control it in ways that benefit you first.

Empowering Yourself For Wealth Creation

Friday, June 20th, 2008

The absolute first step in accumulating wealth is empowering yourself. Self-empowerment is necessary before you can begin to control the money that flows through your life and maximise the potential of it.

Living The Unempowered Life

Think of the unempowered life as the one that you have been living up until now, or up until the point where you took definite steps towards change and the focused pursuit of wealth. If you’ve been on this course for a while it is possible that you have already gained a level of financial empowerment in your life; if you are just starting out consider this read an essential first step and illumination.

In either case no doubt you can understand the importance of empowering yourself to live a better, freer, wealthier life. Either you are not yet empowered and you can feel the need, or you have gained a level of empowerment and glimpsed the possibilities that gaining control over money presents to you.

Financial Empowerment’s Double-Edged Sword

There are many small factors that contribute to personal financial empowerment, but there are two big ones that prevail:

1. Wealth Education
2. Personal control

Ultimately it will be your personal control (for lack of a better term—this isn’t just about discipline) that dictates your success in building wealth. For almost everyone, though, a quality wealth education is elemental in gaining that control. Whether formally through a course or informally through reading and study, the people who succeed and go on to build wealth all get educated before they succeed.

Empowering yourself is one of the greatest gifts you can give to yourself. Having power and knowing it is enlightening in and of itself. Give yourself that gift, and take time to enjoy your accomplishment—your power!

Are you empowered? How has that knowledge changed you? How would you describe the feeling of empowerment? I’m eager to hear…
