Planning For Wealth Creation – Too Much Of A Good Thing?

Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008

There has been an awful lot said here about planning and setting goals for wealth creation. But sometimes, there is such a thing as too much of a good thing.

Are You Over-Planning Wealth Creation?

Determination is important in achieving your goalsIf you have not gotten out of the planning stages in regards to your financial life overhaul and wealth building, you might have to consider that you may be over-planning your wealth creation efforts.  Planning serves a great purpose—it gives us focus, sets clear, achievable goals, creates a money making road map that helps us stay the course.  But sometimes, we get so caught up in planning that we fail to act—and as we know, action is imperative to financial success.

The status quo is just what got us where we are….that is to say, the same place we’ve been all our adult lives. What happens when we plan is that we tend to get overwhelmed.  Without discipline, we let that feeling of being overwhelmed overtake us, and we get stuck thinking and planning but not doing.  A plan is a great thing to have, but remember that that plan can change as needed, and if you don’t get started on wealth creation today, you’ll have lost yet another day of your life.

Is Your Wealth Creation Plan Your Cover?

A lot of us use our plans and goals as camouflage—if we are constructing a plan, we are acting, right?  Not always so.  Continuous planning without action is just another way to hide from the job we have ahead of us.  Over-planning leads to obsessive analysis and more jobs to add to the list.  We keep adding and planning, so we convince ourselves that we are progressing, when in fact we are doing nothing.  More spinning of the wheels. All you need to get going is a basic plan for building wealth.

Highlight the big points, plan what small details you know, and then leave the space to amend as needed.  Top of your list will likely be getting a wealth creation education, so start there.  You’ll find a lot of your plan will be filled in as you go through the wealth building course that you choose. Don’t let your best intentions become your downfall.  Plan today to act on your plan in any way that is truly action.  Stop waiting for all the questions to be answered before you know all of what you need to ask.  Take down the cover and start changing your financial life—your entire life—today!
