What’s At The Heart Of Your Matter?

Thursday, October 30th, 2008

When people are not wealthy, there is a reason why. When people do not know success in finance or in anything they do, there is a reason why. For that matter, when people do succeed there is a reason. Whatever your life circumstance, whatever the result of what you are trying to achieve, there is something at the heart of the matter.

Discovering The Heart Of The Matter

Finding out what is at the real heart of your matter is essential to success. The process involved in doing that centers largely on self-reflection and analysis. There are different ways to do this, for example, some of the exercises wealth creation will lead you through. The key to succeeding here is to know one thing before you start—that what you think is, or should be, at the heart of the matter may be something entirely different from what the actual cause is.

Let’s look at some for instances.

What is the simple answer to not having what you want? Let’s call it money, since that is a very simplistic answer in this case. For example, you want to own your dream property, but that takes money. You don’t have “that kind” of money. But money is not the real root of your problem. It’s not what is really keeping your from achieving your goal or obtaining what you want. The reason you don’t have that money is the real root of the problem. And that reason could be many-fold. It could be the result of

• Your spending habits
• Your lack of financial education
• Lack of money management skills
• Your negative associations and negative financial subconscious
• Limited ability to make sizable income
• Lack of investment
• Your comfort zone
• Personal laziness and complacency

This is a list that could go on and on, and it does. The good news is that it is not one that cannot be overcome. All of these, and all others that you might add to it, can be dealt with. And that’s an essential step in moving forward—finding out what is really at the heart of your financial position.

Delve Into Your Financial Subconscious

Tuesday, March 11th, 2008

We are all products of our life, our conditioning, and our experiences. By adulthood, many of us are so conditioned, with many attitudes and concepts so ingrained, that we are no longer able to succeed in wealth creation—and the reasons are not always so apparent. For most adults, success in wealth creation relies on “rewiring” our financial subconscious to change those attitudes toward money and success that we didn’t even know we had.

Delving Into The Unknown

Jamie McIntyre gives us practices to access our subconscious and figure out what thoughts, memories, and attitudes are really holding us back from making money and embracing wealth. Primarily, the matter is a practice in self-reflection. The following is what Jamie suggests you do: First, decide what it really means to have money and not have money. Repeat each of the three following questions to yourself over and over, until you’ve compiled a list of answers for each (as you go, the answers will go deeper and reach more to the heart of your financial subconscious).

Answer

* What money is (examples: paper, freedom, security, access)

* What money really is (examples: energy, what you want it to be, influence, opportunity, leverage)

* What it is to not have money (examples: pain, fear, frustration, stupidity)

The example answers here, offered by Jamie, are just for illustration—there are no right or wrong answers, this is what money is to you. Once you know what money represents to you, answer this set of questions so that you can a) know where to change, and b) get ideas to start changing now

Answer

* What your most limiting belief is in regards to having financial abundance

* How much money would make you feel financially abundant

* What you can do today to work toward a new financial plan

* What you learned today (progress)

* What you do not understand about personal finance

* Why you are committed to following through with wealth creation

* Two times when you succeeded despite difficult odds

Exercises like these are important to real wealth creation success. Understanding what makes you function and react the way you do is the only way to elicit change. Reach beyond your conscious financial thoughts to understand what needs to be different about your financial life.
