On Confidence

Monday, July 27th, 2009

Confidence. When it really comes down to it, it is something that many people lack, yet fail also to see that they are lacking. It is also imperative to building your own success.

Characteristics Of The Wealthy

One of the biggest reasons that people do not succeed and create wealth is that they live in fear. The working life may be one of drudgery, but it is stable and predictable and reliable (or is it?); at least we think that it is. At the very least, we know that we can manage this life, because it’s what we’ve been doing for all of ours.

If you look at a cross section of wealthy people, you’ll find that they all share certain traits and characteristics among them. Chief among those is confidence. Successful people at some point in their lives were seated with a deep sense of confidence in themselves and their abilities, and it is that that they fell back on and continued to compel them to wealth and true, fulfilled, living. Maybe it is something that they always had, and maybe not. But if you will succeed in creating wealth—and you will—you need to develop that sense of confidence and belief in yourself.

Confidence In….

You need to have confidence in yourself so that you can know, without question, that the plans and strategies and actions you take will succeed. You need to believe in them. If you don’t, at some point you will be challenged, and your weakness will prevail, and you will once again resign yourself to the “easier” more known life that you have been living. And you will continue in that rut as the vast majority of people do.

I know this sounds harsh, but it is the truth. You will meet plenty of people along your path who don’t believe in you or in the ability of a regular guy or girl to make money and be wealthy. Don’t be one of them—be your own best champion!

It is absolutely the truth that not everything you do will always go your way. That is just life. We all have setbacks, and even some things that don’t work out exactly as planned. Every successful man or woman has had that experience more than once. If you also have confidence, though, you’ll know that you can get through those times and regroup, and have enough successes that the “failures” (a poor word choice, but….) will be seriously minimized.

Wealth Creation Is Not A Race

Friday, May 8th, 2009

Creating wealth is not a competition, and it’s not a race, either. You do not need to feel as if you are not doing it “right” because someone else’s outcome or progress is different from your own. This is a personal journey (one that is better when shared with others, but personal still) that has at its core you, so it doesn’t matter how much faster someone else might be getting there.

Go At Your Own Pace

It’s natural to want to race to the end of wealth creation. No one would blame you there, because everyone wants to wealthy-pacebe able to sit back and relax and enjoy the lifestyle that financial freedom and prosperity brings. We all have learned too well, though, that building wealth is a process that takes time, effort, and patience, and there is no way to get rich quick.

All that matters is that you stay steady and do reach your goals. Go at your own pace, take pride and joy in the fact that you are building a better life for yourself and those who matter to you, and ease up on yourself—because when you struggle trying to match someone else’s pace that doesn’t really fit into your life, all you do is stress and overwhelm yourself, and probably do more harm than good.

Keep Focus Where It Matters

You do not need new stresses and distractions to add to your to do list. We all have enough of those. What you need is to be able to focus on the things that are most important, that serve you well. Decide what those things are and then go after them with determination and confidence. You’ll be making more progress along the way than you will probably realise, and you will be building not only wealth, but wealth that is sustainable and built upon a strong foundation—wealth to last a lifetime!

Preempt Financial Failure

Thursday, January 29th, 2009

We’ve been talking a lot about our goals and about reaching them successfully. We’ve also been talking some about the psychology behind setting goals (or not setting goals) and the hesitation and fear that many people fear regarding that seemingly basic task. Today, let’s look at a simple way to overcome those fears and preempt the failure so many people fear—the fear that keeps people from even attempting to set a meaningful goal for wealth creation.

Line Up For Success

We’ve identified one of the main reasons people do not set goals as being the fear of failing to meet them. We also talked a little about the fact that in many cases, when we do fail it is only due to our own lack of motivation and follow-through; our inability to commit to the program at hand. All of these are factors that are so easily overcome. If you can find a way to overcome them, there is no reason to fear failure, and so there is no reason not to set real, meaningful goals. And achieve them!

To give yourself the confidence to succeed, first identify the tools you need; because most of us were not given a real-life lesson in money and finance, that is where we need to start. So to overcome the fear, we give ourselves the tool of preparation in the form of the education we are lacking. We choose a proven wealth education course (we recommend the 21st Century Academy), and then we follow through. We do it!

It’s All In The Follow-Through

Isn’t that true for everything in life? Getting started is a great first step, but it’s what you do after, and how far you take it that makes the difference. Now, I mentioned that the 21st Century Academy course is what I’d recommend as preparation and foundational support for your goals, and here’s the reason—

This course will give you the strong financial education you need, but it also gives you the lessons in mindset and attitude that you need. By the time we reach adulthood, we are tainted by our early life and experience. Our own brains are what get in our way, because there are subconscious factors that are constantly sabotaging those efforts. Jamie McIntyre’s course is a comprehensive course that deals with all ends of this spectrum. It’s the real, whole, deal that gives you the preparation you need to preempt failure, feel confident in your ability to succeed, and achieve those goals and enjoy wealth—not just for once, but for all your days—for life!
