Emotional Wealth Creation
Monday, January 25th, 2010When it comes to money, we all have some kind of strong connection emotionally. For some people, money makes them feel powerful, secure and independent. For others, money is a tool that they must use in order to reach the goals and objectives that they have set for themselves, whether they are planning to take a trip around the world or pay for their children’s education. Some people believe that their success is reflected by the amount of money that they have in the bank.
Negative emotions related to money can range from resentment toward other people who have successfully made their fortune to feeling guilty for being wealthy. All too often, resentment and envy against wealthy individuals gets in the way of successfully reaching your goals financially.
Studies indicate that individuals who are able to reach their goals of financial freedom are able to reduce the negative feelings toward earning money by trying to figure out why they have such negative feelings and working to make positive thinking a habit.
You Have To Believe
If you believe that in order to have wealth, you have to have incredible luck, then you will spend way too much precious time daydreaming about what you would do if you won the lottery and not enough time following through with an effective wealth creation plan. If you believe that there is only so much wealth in the world to go around and in order to be wealthy you have to compete with everyone else, you will lose sight of what it takes to create wealth.
Many people think that you have to be a bad person to be wealthy. Some people actually think that if you want to be rich you have to turn your back on your morals and give up your integrity. If you feel guilty for making money, it will be virtually impossible for you ever to create your fortune. In order to be truly wealthy, you must focus on the positive aspects of wealth creation.
