Symbiotic Explained
In the interest of being as clear as possible, I’d like to backtrack a little and have a conversation about just what the symbiosis of wealth and life means. That should put our more recent discussions into clear view for those of you who might be wondering how I’m making the connection between money and symbiosis.
What Is Symbiosis?
Symbiosis is defined as:
1: the living together in more or less intimate association or close union of two dissimilar organisms (as in parasitism or commensalism) …
2: a cooperative relationship …
Symbiosis occurs when two seemingly unrelated units, beings, or forces live harmoniously together to the mutual benefit of each. Let’s take a look at how that applies to wealth and life.
Life In General
The basics of life are food and shelter, but we know that in this day and age there is hardly anything basic about getting that. In addition, the freedom to live well in the modern age requires more than just the basics—it requires money. Without good financial management, without money, there is no freedom to enjoy life, however basic yours may be.
And so, while you can’t eat or wear or house yourself with money, you still need that unit in order to access those things that give you the right of a free and full lifestyle and allow you to live happily and healthfully.
On Money
Money in and of itself doesn’t require much to thrive—except for our use and participation in the system. So therefore, yes, the relationship is symbiotic—you need money to live your best modern life, and money needs you to grow and thrive, to even exist. It may not need to eat and be warm, but money is nothing without us. In a utopian society, naturally you could do without money. But since the financial systems are going nowhere any time soon, your best, truest life relies on your utilisation of this symbiotic relationship.
So as you can see when we talk about there being a symbiosis between wealth and life, what we mean is that the two many not elementally be necessary, but that in terms of modern living they certainly are, and the one is of much greater benefit to the other.
