Creating Wealth Step One

The first step to creating wealth and becoming financially free is an obvious one. Simply stop spending the money that you do not have, or you will never be financially free.

Saving money is no easy task, especially in this day and age when it is so easy to live beyond your means. It is so easy to buy the things we cannot afford, and banks all around the world come up with a new strategy every day to convince more and more people to take up mortgages that they have no hope of paying.

Once considered luxurious privileges for the wealthy, now just about every household has a washer, a dryer and a refrigerator. Houses around the world are filled with all different types of electronic devices from video games to cellular phones. Most people do not have the money to pay for these things; instead, they use credit cards. Once some people realize how easy it is to buy the things they want but do not have the money to pay for it all, they become unstoppable, maxing out one credit card right after another.

Now or Never

If you continue to live beyond your means and spend money that you do not have, you will not be able to create wealth. The only surefire way to build a fortune is by saving and investing your funds wisely. It is not uncommon for people with an abundance of money to live modestly, driving used cars and living in small houses.

When you are ready to get serious about wealth creation, begin by making a list of all of your expenses. Once you are able to see where all of your money is going month after month, you will be able to pinpoint the areas where you can cut back. For example, make your coffee at home so you are not tempted to stop by the café, walk to work on nice days to save gas and watch an old film on television instead of dishing out a day’s salary to go to the movies. Just little cutbacks here and there will make an incredible difference.
